Never should it be said again that the truth has lost it's voice,
Never should a dead be forced to remain silent because their words would cause a scare,
It's never to soon to be quick, Never too late to be right,
The pain caused by the cause of a death has never been totally explained to us,
There's a loop, a hitch only the victim could share,
If only the Dead could speak, we'll hear voices we never want to hear,
If only the Dead could speak, we'll reduce the tears at funerals and increase it at birthdays,
Nothing would make more sense than the voice everyone else do not want to hear,
If only the Dead could speak we'll be notified of a period of Fame, wealth, happiness and good,
A pre-jet age of fairness and equity where everyone lived a life of influence,
Where the black and white have a single quest for humanity, Where your pain is my pain and your gain is my Fame,
We would hear things better than the good old days, sweeter than the accounts of the dead written by men who still breathe,
We'll get first hand views on the riches that once paraded the Earth, We'll ask Solomon and the richest man in Babylon of their quest and how they pulled that through,
Our heads will be filled with voices of the true intentions of inventors and the mis-management we are currently admiring,
If the only the Dead could speak, mortal brains may not be able to carry the message,
We'll stop giving credits to oppressors and start living in fear for the unknown,
We'll come to understand that the enemy we fear maybe an angel sent to shield us from the enemies we keep as friends,
Consciousness and righteousness will become a watchword for generations unborn,
Courts would only demand for witnesses from dead victims, there'll be no sugar-coated pseudo-truth, no adjournment for a single case,
Faraday will tell us mistakes he made in the electricity of today and why we could have a perpetual motion machine of every kind,
Socrates would have stopped the Rwandan genocide with a wisdom not found in the monks of the men,
Our founding fathers who discovered the oils in Oloibiri and the Wells of Badagry,
The great Danfodio would still speak to his clan, this time with views your eyes can't see,
If only the Dead could speak, we'll not just hear words, we'll get facts, we'll not just praise titles, we'll appreciate the realms of men better,
Who will give the truth a voice, Who's worthy to bear the grunt, He'll be the greatest amongst us, We'll sing his praise in our songs,
I say this with a heavy heart,
I wish the Dead could speak in the realms of men.
Dedicated to my country Nigeria on the occasion of her 61st Independence.
